I had been dreaming of taking a Bodrum luxury boat trip along Turkey’s picturesque I’ve been vacationing on the coast for quite some time now. Recently I felt it was, about time to begin organizing our escape. Following research I opted to make a reservation, with Bodrum Yacht. Arrival Day in Bodrum
As the day of our arrival drew near I felt a growing sense of excitement. Upon reaching Bodrum we headed towards the marina. Noticed the Bodrum Yacht sign, along our path. The welcoming crew greeted us warmly with towels and refreshing drinks. They led us on a tour of the Bodrum Queen and I was truly impressed, by the exquisite interior decor.
Our cabins were spacious and bright each equipped with bathrooms, soft white robes and all essential amenities. The expansive deck boasted loungers, a stocked bar and a cozy dining area. However the real highlight was the glass bottom lounge that allowed us to observe schools of fish swimming beneath us. I was eagerly anticipating our voyage!
Cruising the Turquoise Waters
After we stored our bags the captain introduced himself. Our journey began. The weather couldn’t have been better. Sunny and breezy. While sailing along the coast the view was absolutely stunning. Towering mountains emerged from the glistening sea with fishing villages and sandy beaches scattered around.
Our first destination was a bay enclosed by pine covered cliffs. Without hesitation we leaped into the water for a revitalizing swim. The clear water was just the right temperature and snorkeling unveiled an world. Unfortunately it was time to move on with our trip. I found myself already daydreaming about coming someday.
Exploring Coastal Villages
After that we arrived at the village of Gümüşlük to have lunch and explore the boutique shops and cozy cafes. We indulged in meze, fresh seafood and the local Efes beer before browsing through pottery, jewelry and textiles. I purchased some gifts for my friends before rejoining the boat. As we set off sailing the captain pointed out landmarks and shared captivating stories, about the regions history and mythology.
The day passed quickly as we traveled from one spot to another. We were thrilled to see dolphins playing in our wake and ancient ruins perched on cliffs. On board we savored drinks, on deck as the sun slowly descended on the horizon painting a sky in shades of orange and pink.
Luxury Amenities and Service
We enjoyed a dinner, with a variety of Turkish dishes prepared by the chef. From pide bread to grilled seafood skewers and stuffed vegetables the flavors were truly amazing. As the evening progressed and the stars appeared we gathered around chatting and enjoying wine into the night.
Waking up to the soothing sound of waves against the boats hull and admiring the views of secluded bays from my cabin window felt like a dream. Each morning we were greeted with a breakfast spread featuring eggs, cheeses and seasonal fruits. Fond Farewell (For Now…)
All too soon, our magical Bodrum luxury boat trip was coming to an end. Reluctantly we said our goodbyes swapping contact information with the friends we met during the journey. I’m already looking forward to returning to Bodrum Yacht for moments. Maybe next time a longer trip to discover more of the coastline.
